第一单元：自我介绍
My name is Li Hua. I am twelve years old. I study in No.1 Middle School. My favorite subject is English because it is interesting and useful. In my free time, I like reading books and playing basketball. I want to be an engineer when I grow up.
第二单元：我的家人
I have a happy family. There are four people in my family. They are my father, my mother, my sister and me. My father is a doctor. He works in a hospital. My mother is a teacher. She teaches English in my school. My sister is ten years old. She studies in primary school. We love each other very much.
第三单元：我的学校
My school is big and beautiful. It has many buildings and a large playground. There are about two thousand students and two hundred teachers in our school. We have classes from Monday to Friday. The teachers here are very kind and helpful. I like my school very much.
第四单元：我的朋友
I have a good friend named Wang Lei. He is tall and handsome. He likes playing football and watching movies. We often play together after school. He studies well in all subjects, especially in mathematics. I am proud of having such a friend.
第五单元：我的爱好
I have many hobbies, but my favorite one is playing the piano. I started learning it when I was seven years old. Now, I can play many beautiful pieces of music. Playing the piano makes me feel relaxed and happy. I hope to perform at a concert one day.
第六单元：购物
Last weekend, I went shopping with my mother. We went to a big supermarket near our home. There were many people there. We bought some clothes for me and some food for our dinner. I helped my mother carry the bags. We had a good time together.
第七单元：旅游计划
During the summer holiday, I plan to visit Beijing with my parents. We will stay there for five days. We will visit the Great Wall, the Forbidden City, and the Summer Palace. I am very excited about this trip because I think it will be very interesting and educational.
第八单元：环保意识
Protecting the environment is very important. As a student, I try to do something to protect our earth. First, I always remember to turn off the lights when I leave the classroom or bedroom. Second, I use both sides of the paper for writing notes or drawing pictures. Third, I never throw rubbish on the ground but always put it into the trash bin. Let’s work together to make our world cleaner and more beautiful.
第九单元：节日庆祝
Christmas Day is coming! It is a Western holiday celebrated by Christians on December 25th every year. People decorate their houses with Christmas trees, lights, and wreaths. They give gifts to each other and sing Christmas songs. In some countries, people also eat turkey as a traditional meal during Christmas dinner. Although it is not a Chinese holiday, many young people in China also celebrate it now because they think it is fun and romantic.
